## Milei Replaces Foreign Affairs Minister Over UN Vote on Cuba

Argentina's President recently replaced the Foreign Affairs Minister following her vote at the United Nations favoring the lifting of the US embargo against Cuba. The current Argentinian leader, who favors strong relations with the United States, has distanced his country from longstanding leftist partners, including Cuba and Venezuela. The UN General Assembly passed a non-binding resolution urging the US to end its embargo on Cuba, with opposition from only two countries. The President, aligning with US and Israeli policies, emphasized not supporting authoritarian regimes. The Argentine ambassador to the US will take over as Foreign Minister. The dismissed minister had been instrumental in maintaining diplomatic ties with prominent global players. Tensions rose when a vote discrepancy with the President’s policy direction was brought to his attention, leading to the replacement. Earlier this year, Argentina's national oil company denied fuel supplies to Cuba's airline, aligning with the US guidelines.
